PRSD believes in providing challenging learning opportunities for all students by recognizing individual talents, strengths, interests, abilities, and learning styles. The Advanced Placement (AP) program provides enrichment for students, which can potentially provide the opportunity to earn university credits while still in high school.
AP courses are recognized for advanced credit or advanced placement in many international universities and colleges. By participating in the AP Program, secondary schools and students commit to an internationally standardized curriculum and exam. Students will experience enriched programming and a university-level curriculum that is taught by supportive and dedicated teachers through virtual/remote learning classrooms. Students will have a stronger academic foundation for the transition from high school to a post-secondary setting.
Advanced Placement options are posted yearly in March and distributed to students entering Grades 10-12 in the following school year. An annual divisional information session will take place prior to registration. Students will register through their local high school registration process in the spring of each year.
An application for the program must be submitted by the first Friday after Spring Break. See below.
